Who Is Linda and what does she do best?!
I am a therapeutic yoga educator, a certified yoga therapist dedicated to the promotion of highly individualized self-care practices, enhanced self-awareness and healing through deep human connection. Informed by a career in integrative medicine, the teachings have long-lasting effects, bringing healing, hope and optimism to people yearning for information, guidance and companionship on the path to inner growth.
Difficult diagnoses, special and chronic conditions are my areas of expertise. We work together intentionally and diligently, you and I, to prevent and avoid these realities, but when they present themselves we use myriad and marvelous techniques to overcome obstacles and claim a profound sense of wholeness and well-being.
We, you and I together, collaborate with medical providers and specialists, physical and occupational therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists and others to promote complementary care and changes in lifestyle behaviors to support not only your well-being, but your better-being.
I specialize in:
Welcoming beginners into healing practices through movement, breathwork and meditation
Supporting and guiding experienced practitioners, teachers and medical professionals
Offering assessments and skillful observation
Setting and reaching meaningful and realistic goals
Creating your own highly personalized Video Library
Pre-habilitation, preparation for surgeries, medical procedures and BIG transitions
Rehabilitation and recovery with in-home support
Medical advocacy support and training
Identifying and creating medical support teams
Yoga as Lifestyle
Medicine was born
…following a brief career working in integrative medicine at the GWU-Center for Integrative Medicine and the George Washington University School of Medicine, I created and designed a companion symposium for an extraordinary exhibit. The exhibit was titled exquisitely, Yoga: The Art of Transformation ...
and as soon as I learned of this, I contacted the curator and asked if I might offer a symposium: Yoga: The Art and SCIENCE of Transformation (my appreciation of and gratitude for the genius curator, Debra Diamond, is infinite)
It was a modern medical yoga symposium, an in-depth look at current research and practices that supported therapeutic yoga as a valuable partner in modern medicine. In fact, it was coupled with a second day in partnership with the GWU medical school in recognition of the value of integrative and complementary practices.
I am a therapeutic practitioner and have been for nearly twenty-five years. Immersing myself in all things yogic since I was a teenager, I bring a certain level of engagement to my work to help others be their very best physically and emotionally, and to be in touch with their radiant humanity, their infinite divinity.
Through small private group classes and community-based programs, 1:1 private sessions in-person or online, you can expect a comprehensive yoga and meditation practice based entirely upon your specific interests and needs.
